Sports Story players can now leave the PureStrike Hotel and head a few steps south on the map to get to PureStrike Mall.
Upon entering the mall, players will have to do a quick race with Calliope. Whoever can grab ten blue flags in the area the fastest can win a 10% off coupon. The flags are simple enough to find -just make sure to run the entire time by holding the B button.
Get Your Sports License
Players will spot the License shop to the left of the front desk girl, but if they go inside, they won’t be able to register because there are no available attendants. In the meantime, head to the shop to the right of the flag race girl that says Lens on the front of it. The man inside will say he’s all out of Putters, but players can pick up the putter that’s hanging on the left side of the shop.
Just push some of the boxes with the A button to make a path and then bring the putter to the cashier. He’ll sell it for $2.00. After buying it, go to the back of the shop for a free lesson. Players can earn themselves a coupon if they impress the two men in the back corner.
With the new Putter in hand, go back to the License shop. Now, players can buy the license by speaking to the man with the hat. However, they’ll need to get $4.75 before doing so.
After coughing up the coins, players will need to speak to the old woman and answer some personality questions. This doesn’t seem to have any impact on the story or anything, so don’t worry about what to choose. Next, pick a pose for the cameraman. This actually does have some impact, as the pose will show up on your license card in the menu.
Finally, Sports Story players will have a Class C Sports License.
Meet Lara at Rustling Vale
After getting the license, step outside to have a quick chat with Lara. Leave PureStrike Mall and head north to find Rustling Vale.
Get Rid of the Iron Dragons
Speak to the older gentleman by the front entrance, and he’ll ask players to get rid of three members of the Iron Dragons - a group of miscreants that look like the Yakuza.
Get an Axe for the Woodsmen
Upon entering the Lodge, players will find a group of men in the back. Approach them to start off a quest. Players will need to find an axe before speaking to the group again.

Head east of the Rustling Vale entrance sign to find the Bauer Family Farm. Coming here will start a new quest that will lead to getting an axe.
Rescue Rosco the Cat from Bees
Head to the back of the farm and carefully walk through the corn without touching the bees. If you touch one, you’ll have to restart the activity. Go past the cat to find a duck. It’ll fly across the lake, and players can pick up a frog that appears nearby. Now, go get Rosco and head to the front of the farmhouse.
Players will get a Cob Loaf in exchange for saving the cat. With the loaf in hand, head to the lumberjack to get an axe.
However, the lumberjack will want one Pristine Wood Chip in exchange. For now, head back to the guys with the axes just south-southwest of the lumberjack.
Confront the Black Gate
The group wants to search for Pristine Wood Chips, the item that the lumberjack wants. Meet the group at the mysterious black gate past the bell tower. The area is north of the Lodge.
Follow the Woodsmen
Once players arrive at the gate, a crow will scare the group away. They now want to relocate and head to the Fabled Blur Birdbox. This birdbox is south of the lumberjack’s place and is surrounded by bees.
A nearby crow will drop a piece of Flint. Take the Flint to the axe guy to the left, the one near the pile of twigs. He’ll start some flames, and then players must stand on it and smack a flaming golf ball at the bees near the birdbox. The group will find a Golden Egg inside. And now, they want to go to the woods behind the lumberjack’s house.
Find a Way to Deal with the Bees / Check on the Farm Bees
Before hanging out with the axe crew, stand on the same pile of timber that was used to scare the bees. But now, aim for the beehive behind the farmhouse.
We completed his challenge to fill the last hole in our punch card. Players can take Punch Tickets back to the License store.
This will cause the bees to relax. However, players will need to catch all the bees in the hive.
Catch all the Bees in the Hive
After entering the backyard through the side entrance, go up to the beehive and pick it up. Now players will need to grab nine bees. Just walk up to them, and they’ll go into the hive by themselves. After completing the task, one of the members of the Iron Dragons will get too close to the hive, and the bees will come out and scare him away. He will also drop a Birdcage Key, which we’ll be using later.
Make sure to head inside the farmhouse before leaving to pick up a Cob of corn in the kitchen. There’s also a drawer with a 10% coupon.
What do I do with Cob of Corn?
Take the Cob to the girl standing left of the Rustling Vale sign. She’ll give you a Honey Ball, which greatly reduces bounce distance.
For now, let’s head back to check in with the axe crew near the lumberjack’s house. If you talk to them, they’ll say that the Iron Dragons need to be dismissed before they can continue their journey.
Second Iron Dragon Member
We already took care of the first Iron Dragon member by completing the farmhouse bee scenario, but players can head left of the lodge to find the second one. Speak to the girl on the course below the Iron Dragon guy, and she’ll say to fill in the divots with sand. Once players do that, they’ll complete her golf challenge.
Players will get $1.00 and a punch card for their license. The Iron Dragon guy will want players to hit the bell from their current location. He’ll skedaddle after players successfully hit the target. And like the first member, players will get their hands on the second Birdcage Key.
Third Iron Dragon Member
Now, head back to the Iron Dragon guy standing near the lumberjack’s place. He won’t let players on the course, but players can find a secret entrance by heading north on the path.
In the next area, cut down the tree with the axe to cross the river. Head down the path to the south that’s in between the trees. Open the chest to find a Recovery Ball.
Speak to the girl that was practicing in the cutscene, and she’ll show players how to rebound off a pumpkin. Once she eventually leaves with her dad/coach, the Iron Dragon member will also go. Now, head back to the axe gang.
Distract the Lumberjack
The gang wants the player to distract the lumberjack. Give him three Cogs to make his windmill work again. We found cogs all over the place by interacting with birdboxes. Once the mini-golf game is complete, players will get a punch for their punch card.

Go on a Quest to Find Pristine Wood Chips
Enter the lumberjack’s backyard and open the chest to find a Crazy Ball, which gives a ball extra distance but with less accuracy. Head to the forest path to find the group attempting to open a locked door with an egg on it.
Knock the pine tree down to access the area on the left. Walk around a little bit, and a crow will drop some more Flint. Head to the pile of pine needles and fling a fiery ball at the bees. Continue on the path north and knock the tree down.
Follow the axe man to a tall pine tree and cut it down together to get a Pristine Wood Chip for the lumberjack. After a brief scene, players will finally meet up with Lara.
Before meeting up with her, take the Pristine Wood Chip to the lumberjack to get a Mahogany Woods club.
Play Golf with Lara
To find Lara, head to the clubhouse. Remember the Iron Dragon member that was hitting the truck with the bat? That’s where the building is. Speak to Lara to start a match against her.
The bad guys will come back during the match to mess up Lara’s belongings. The men will drop another Birdcage Key, and then the game will commence. Once it ends, players will get another punch on their card.
Release the Slybeaks from Cages
Players can now free the birds with the three Birdcage Keys in hand. The three cages are located:
Next to the lodge. Next to the lumberjack’s house. On the cliff west of the bell tower.

After freeing the birds, the strange gate near the bell tower will lower.
Visit Bird Woman
Before entering the Bird woman’s house, check the mailbox for a coupon and search the birdbox for a Cog. Also, break the balloon over the pond to get some cash.
Follow Scooter
After a conversation with the witch, follow Scooter to the path to the right of the house. Keep following the crow; eventually, it’ll cross over to the right. Chop down the pine tree to make a path. Eventually, Scooter will lead players to a different bird. The door with the egg on it will finally open, and players can reach it by heading south. Open the treasure chest inside to find the Deed.
Solve the Case
After leaving the cave, the bell in the bell tower will finally fall due to being hit all day with golf balls. Enter the building to find a picture of the four owners of Rustling Vale. Their surnames are Forrester, Bauer, Clark, and Fowler.
After solving the case, players will get a coupon, a couple of dollars, and they can choose a stat to upgrade.
