The veteran Spurs guard on Sunday announced in a post written in Spanish on his personal blog that he will return to play his 15th NBA season.

Ginobili, who turns 39 this month, has spent his entire fourteen-year career with San Antonio. The four-time NBA champion holds career averages of 14.0 points, 4.0 assists and 3.7 rebounds. He averaged the fewest minutes of his career (19.6) last season, averaging 9.6 points, 3.1 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game while shooting 45 percent from the field.

Beyond that, as I said before, this week I trained with much greater intensity in both gym and on the court. They suffered the legs and lungs but it was inevitable. Now is the time to start training with the team. On Monday it cost me a lot, but no longer see the time and I want to see all the guys.

Meanwhile, the Spurs are still waiting on veteran Tim Duncan to make a decision about playing next season. He is believed to be mulling retirement at age 40, though some reports indicate he intends to return for another season with San Antonio.
