Exploring the possibility could mean a great deal of things, especially if it means there’s going to be a lot of discussion regarding whether Square Enix is going to do the remake at all. Final Fantasy 13 producer, Yoshinori Kitase, previously stated that if Square Enix wanted to produce a remake of Final Fantasy 7 with the kind of graphical detail you see in Final Fantasy 13, it would take a significantly longer time to produce than Final Fantasy 13 itself.
There’s a great deal of fans who want to see a remake with prettier graphics and perhaps overhauled gameplay, but the fact of the matter is, the time, resources, and energy that Square Enix would have to put into the creation of the game would be huge. Personally, I wish they would just dismiss the subject outright so there could be a once and for all answer. Final Fantasy 7 was great, but I’m not crying because I don’t get to see another version that looks better.
