First off, it’s worth mentioning that the Outriders Twitter account was made in June 2017, but it avoided posting anything until recently, thereby suggesting the game is at least partway through its development cycle. Another key detail is the location associated with the Twitter account is Enoch, a place mentioned in the other Square Enix teasers for Outriders, but before delving into those, there is the big teaser that the publisher just recently posted.
Alongside confirming that Outriders will be shown during Square Enix’s press conference (6 PM PT on June 10), it unleashed a new teaser video (seen below) that shows someone waking up from a cryostasis. The other posts on the account mention a Captain Archan, the launch of a spaceship dubbed “The Flores,” a destroyed Earth in May 2076, and the destination of Enoch, “humanity’s last hope and salvation.”
Further “logs” detailed on the Twitter account also suggest that the Flores was damaged during the flight, resulting in a lost connection with Earth and a few cryo-pods being destroyed. The player character would presumably one of these newly awakened passengers of the Flores, but this is only speculation. Outriders and some details about the new Square Enix game will be revealed at E3 2019.
However, Outriders is not the only title that Square Enix is bringing with it to the prestigious gaming event. It has recently been confirmed that the Avengers project, now known as Marvel’s Avengers, will be at E3 2019, with rumors promising everything from four-player co-op to hero customization. Assuming that the publisher still has a few tricks up its sleeves, it’s shaping up to be a press conference many will not want to miss.
Square Enix’s E3 Press conference takes place on Monday, June 10, beginning at 6 PM PT / 9 PM EST.
